The brief

Fit-out a new office building to a regional HQ standard. Gazprom are a global energy company and wanted an office interior to reflect their business scale.

How we met the challenge

Moving from temporary office space, the Directors of Gazprom Marketing & Trading were able to outline the style of office interior already established overseas.

Harder to quantify was the likely growth in the UK, and the justifiable investment required to provide scalable office services.During the office design consultation phase, the open plan spaces were devised to offer an appealing layout initially, with infrastructure and office furniture systems selected to support expansion.

Alongside the practical solutions, the office fit-out used some very high quality materials including one of the first installations of a Privalite glass wall in the UK. Privalite is a switchable glass that can be changed from clear to opaque. The main Boardroom is open to view from reception, but is obscured when a meeting is taking place. Making the impressive Boardroom visibale to visitors adds to the sense of quality in the office interior, and makes use of the investment for the first impression.

As an office design solution the Privalite enhances the relatively small Reception space by using the seperate, but visible, meeting room.

Part of the open plan space was devoted to an energy trading area using a trading desk system to support multiple screens and a high density of PCs. Although this area can be lively, and generates a lot of heat and noise, the office design manages to contain the disruption without creating a boilerhouse atmosphere in the trading office space.
